Grosbeak in Big Sky blue is a boot that looks like a perfect Montana afternoon. Genuine stingray in a deep, denim-blue covers the foot, its naturally beaded surface catching the light like sun on water, while the tall shaft rises in a brighter sky-blue leather scattered with white birds in flight. Two blues and a flash of white — it is, quite simply, a clear summer sky with a few soft clouds drifting across it, set on a sharp pointed toe and a stacked heel.
This is a statement piece that still feels joyful and easy to wear. The blues are rich and modern, the white birds keep it light and romantic, and the rare stingray texture makes people lean in for a closer look. Bold, happy and unmistakably yours.
Why “Big Sky”
Montana is called Big Sky Country for a reason — on a clear summer afternoon the blue goes on forever, broken only by a few slow white clouds. That is the exact feeling we chased here: the deep blue of the stingray for the sky at its richest, the bright blue shaft for the light overhead, and the white birds for the clouds. A whole Montana summer sky, worn on your feet.
Fun fact: the Grosbeak really is a bird — and yes, a blue one
Grosbeak is named for a family of thick-billed songbirds — and there truly is a Blue Grosbeak, a small, brilliant cobalt-blue bird found across the American plains and West in summer. So this blue colourway is the boot living up to its name: the Blue Grosbeak, brought to life in exotic leather. And the white birds cut into the shaft? Those are swallows in flight — long a symbol of freedom, loyalty and a safe return home, and a little wish for wherever the road takes you.
How to wear it?
Blue is the surprise neutral, so this pair goes further than you would think. Wear it with white denim and a tee for pure summer ease, with a floaty white or cream dress so the birds feel like part of the outfit, or with black and indigo for contrast after dark. A joyful boot for festivals, weddings, the Fourth of July, or any day that deserves a little sky.
Fun fact: stingray, and why it sparkles
Stingray is one of the toughest, most resilient leathers on earth. Its surface is covered in tiny calcified beads — the same skin once known as shagreen, prized for centuries by Japanese samurai to wrap their sword handles because it never slipped and never wore out. Those beads are exactly what catch the light. Naturally water- and scratch-resistant, it is a boot built to last a lifetime and look better with every year.
Craftsmanship Designed in Montana and handmade in Italy, each pair is built entirely by hand with a premium leather lining, cushioned insole and special care taken over the hand-built sole. We use cork filling and tree resin instead of chemical glue, so your feet stay dry and comfortable — frontiertough boots that conform to the wearer over time and only get better with every year.
A rare, collectible edition Just 3 pairs of this style will ever be made. We craft in deliberately small runs — each colour its own little edition — so the pieces you choose stay rare and personal. They are made to be collected, never mass-produced; and as any true boot lover knows, there is no such thing as too many beautiful pairs in the closet. When this run is gone, it is gone for good.
