Why “Thunderhead”?
Thunderhead is the color of the sky just before a Montana storm — the towering grey cloud that builds over the mountains, heavy and swollen with water, in the last still moment before the first drop falls. Deep, moody and powerful, it is a grey with real atmosphere and weight. We carried that storm-sky grey into rare python — and because every skin is natural, no two pairs are ever exactly the same.
Fun fact: real python, never the same twice
Because Hidden Lake is made from genuine python, the scale pattern is entirely natural — no two skins, and no two pairs, are ever identical. The supple leather softens and moulds to your foot over time, and the matte grey only grows richer with wear. It is a true collector's leather, made to be lived in.
How to wear it?
In the city: pair with charcoal or navy tailoring, grey or indigo denim and a knit for a sharp, tonal look. In a western town: wear them with worn jeans, a belt and a jacket and let the exotic texture do the talking. Grey is a true neutral, so these move from the office to dinner to the open road without a second thought.
Craftsmanship
Designed in Montana and handmade in Italy, each pair is built entirely by hand with a premium leather lining, cushioned insole and special care taken over the hand-built sole. We use cork filling and tree resin instead of chemical glue, so your feet stay dry and comfortable — frontiertough boots that conform to the wearer over time and only get better with every year.
Just 10 pairs of this style will ever be made. We craft in deliberately small runs — each color its own little edition — so the pieces you choose stay rare and personal. They are made to be collected, never mass-produced; and as any true boot lover knows, there is no such thing as too many beautiful pairs in the closet. When this run is gone, it is gone for good.
